Finall an affordable Scope for Saltwater!
Hey this is just a little cheapie but that makes it perfect for the average backyard redneck lab (yup I have a better one but we tear up 2 or 3 of these a year as opposed to tearing up my 1900 dollar Bausch). These are pretty rugged little guys that I have used for a couple of years as my general scopes - Usually I dont need more than 40x but it is nice to have more lenses to play with in a cheaper scope - Also I was able to get a local eyeglass shop to custom grind an eyepiece for my webcam and with another we eliminated the eyepiece altogether and had a local machine shop make an optical chip mount for one of the old Kodak camera chip kits - costed like under a hundred bucks - makes for one inexpensive electronic microscope provided you are inventive enough to slip an eyepiece and plotch a cam. We have one of these scopes we carry on the boats and use a couple of pieces of stiff wire and some polished aluminium pipe with an Intel webcam 3 (ebay under 5 bucks) to make a really affordable "on the boat, in the field, getting beaten on" microscope. Handiest little scopes I have found to have around saltwater
